ABOUT THE ARTIST

Amy Thai is an award winning creative director and multidisciplinary artist born in Sydney, Australia in 1992. Guided by exploring the connection between art and nature, Amy works globally across many art forms including the ephemeral medium of flowers and the contrasting enduring substance of marble.

Thai's works will be featured in the upcoming inaugural exhibition of Barovier & Toso ARTE gallery in Murano, Venice. This new international art gallery, housed in the historic Palazzo Barovier&Toso, celebrates the intersection of contemporary art and the ancient glassmaking tradition of Murano. “Glass Art in Dialogue / Arte del vetro in dialogo,” will run from February 13 to June 8, 2025, and marks her first exploration of glass as a medium.

Her marble work was previously exhibited in Venice, during H2O Venezia: Diari d'acqua / Water Diaries, a collective exhibition held at the end of an artistic residency program, set up by SPUMA – Space for the Arts on Giudecca and promoted by the Barovier&Toso Foundation itself during the last Art Biennale.

Her botanical sculpture and installation shows include “Simplicité”, Artelier Gallery – Sheraton Hotel (2019),  Butterfly Habitat (2022), “Remnants”, Australia Square (2022); “Frozen in Fuchsia” (2023), Hilton Hotel; "Subway Puppy" (2023), New York City Subways , "Petals of the Red Earth" (2024) - The Australian and New Zealand Pavillion in Suzhou, Remnants - The Capsule (2024) in suzhou china.

In 2019 she returned home to Sydney and founded Don de L'Amour, an award winning, globally operating botanical art and design studio known for boldness, creativity and attention to detail.

Thai's works have been published in Vogue Living and featured in The New York Times as one of Australia’s leading artists changing the floral landscape; she was the national winner of Australian Women’s Small Business Champions (2022). She received a bachelor’s degree in fashion design from Whitehouse Institute of Design in 2015.
